Description: Get ready for some crazy fire agate facts I’m about to drop on you: First, since agates are always banded, its name is technically a misnomer. Found in the Southwestern US and down into northern and central Mexico, this mineral formed from iron-oxide rich hot water as a product of volcanic activity, but it’s the micro-crystals that are iridescent and flame-like.
