Description: Noreena jasper is one of the amazing rock specimens out of Australia (like rainforest jasper, boulder opal, lace agate, etc.) formed from silica/mineral rich water filling cavities under the surface millions of years ago. As water slowly makes its way into the pores and cracks, the minerals it holds change concentrations and types—this variation is what leads to the amazing colors in stones like this. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I can’t help seeing Matisse’s paintings in this stone.
