Description: Every week, there’s a piece that makes me think ‘regal, elegant’—this is the one. Lapis has been used throughout history for so many things—most know about the inlaid semi-precious bits in King Tut’s sarcophagus, but I doubt some will have heard of hand-ground pigments artists created for oil paintings during the Renaissance. Lapis carries a rich, complex history that stretches across nearly all of human civilization.

Cast, cut, ground, laminated, carved, and polished. With love.
