The glass for this piece was Waterjet cut into discs, pulled from while molten from a crucible into glass rods, then carefully stacked into a kiln and fused a second time BEFORE being cut, ground, laminated, then carved and polished with this piece of jade. To say it’s been on a journey might be an understatement. And I love it—the history of its process registers in the lines if you looks closely enough.
